Review and
Practice:
Create a
chart on the board, like the table that each student has in his/her travel
journal. Using the cards with facts written on them, have the students fill
in the chart before transferring it into their travel journals.

*If there
is time, trace a map of Australia on the board and show students where the
capital and famous cities are; introduce new landform words, too, like plateau,
plains,
mountains
and beaches.

Kangaroo
Art:
Start by
having each student draw the shape of a kangaroo on brown construction paper;
you may need to guide them through this on the board.
Students
will then cut out their kangaroo and glue it onto a sheet of white paper.
Using cotton
swabs, the students then recreate the style of cave-painting using lines and
dots in patterns to elaborate their kangaroo.
Students
may also want to add circles, swirls, cacti or other embellishments to create
their art. The sky is the limit!
